Thus, artists leave their habits and the contemporary art’s usual places, to be part of an unexpected location and then, to be in contact with new publics. Hospitals, jails, underprivileged suburbs, isolated countries, urban socially stricken zones, are some of the places enriching inventions and new artistic processes, which demand creativity and true human relations.
Within the last ten years, this programme has enabled more than 200 emerging artists to build their projects based on human, social, and economical contexts, thanks to fourteen cultural organisations’ support. The projects the artists of the first three programmes have done are compiled in the Pépinières’ book : Parcours d’artistes / Artists experiences.
