Parcours d’artistes – Artists’ experiences 2005 – 2008

This booklet is dedicated to the map^xxl programme - encounter, exchange, produce within diversity of experiences - developped by the Pépinières europénnes pour jeunes artistes. It presents the work of those young artists, who are particularly interested in discovering other cultures and who are attentive to human relationships.

The « artists’ experiences » catalog presents 93 lauréat emerging artists’ projects from the map^xxl programme, as well as all the partners who were part of this mobility programme.

Park in progress 3 (june 2006) was a night wandering in the INJEP’s park (Marly le Roi), based onthe work of 46 European, Japanese, Chinese, latin American and South African artists. These young creators have proposed truly interactive performances, in very different expression fields : choregraphy, music, video projections, lightenings, performing arts performances...
The booklet presents the artists and their projects, and allows to recount the audience involvement both as a spectator and as an actor, just for the time of one night.

Map in Graz – Forum européen de la jeune création – European forum for emerging creation

This 200 page book, entirely bilingual, recounts the proposals of the European forum for emerging creation, which took place in july 2003, in Graz.

As a key event of the map programme, the European forum for emerging creation enabled the meeting of 61 lauréat artists of the map programme, 27 creation places’ representatives, 32 partner institutions’ representatives and 16 cultural professionals for a period of one week. As a result, 136 persons from all Europe were invited in Graz, the 2003 European capital of culture. 3000 artists and people from the Graz’s audience were greeted, and have attended shows, concerts, workshops and unformal meetings. Three events have enriched the forum : the Michelangelo Pistoletto’s conference and debate which were addressing issues related to new forms of creation, a workshop organised between the Pépinières and the 6^thmap programme concerning tha artistic residences renewal, and finally, a debate on the artist’s place in the urban space.

Parcours d’artistes – Artists’ experiences – programme map

This catalog is dedicated to the Pépinières européennes pour jeunes artistes’ map project - mobility in art process. It presents the work of those young artists, who are particularly interested in discovering other cultures, and who are attentive to human relationships.

This « artists’ experiences » booklet presents 60 emerging lauré artists’ projects. Those map programme results have been realised within a residency period of 3 to 9 months in one of the 16 partner countries. The artists’ testimonies and the summary of their artistic commitment stress the worth of this mobility programme. Whatever their expression field, artists always demonstrate a fruitful inventiveness. The particular attention they pay to human, social and economical contexts in which they take part, establish their projects in a permanent scheme of crossing frontiers.
