Abril Padilla examines the frontiers that exist between sound and music. Objects become instruments and are used for their expressive quality. With a particular attachment to kitchen utensils: whisks, knives, glasses, and lids, Abril Padilla takes sound from everyday objects, working their musicality in order to create visual melodies. Re-cycling material in this way has allowed her to create visual and musical theatre. Her electro-acoustic researches, based on the voice and on objects, explore sound variations, constantly alternating creation and improvisation.
