Donald Abad experiments with new technology to widen the scope of individual and collective sensations. Building on personal experience, his work examines the individual faced with his environment. The interactive installation, video and CD-Rom allow him to create a universe of communication favourable for the participation and communication of gestures and attitudes. His work, permeated with humour and second degree in the production, derides human phenomena with a subtle game of demystification. Interactivity gives Donald Abad the chance to work on the energy deployed by the spectator-actor, and provides a visual, sound and physical response suited to the content of the work.

Donald Abad (France), lives in Paris (France) Graduate of l’Ecole Nationale des Arts Décoratifs (ensad), Paris (France) in 2001, he takes part in the 2002 ensad Interactive Research Workshop. Today, he teaches in Paris and at l’esad (Ecole Supérieure d’Art et de Design) in Amien (France). His experience encourages the investigation of the individual’s place in his environment. He furthers his research during his residency in Enschede (Holland) within the map programme of Pépinières européennes pour jeunes artistes. From October 2002 to May 2003,he works on the staging of his own role and uses space, architecture and the environment. This work was presented in the Villa De Bank, creative work site in Enschede.
